SAVINE Constructs

SAVINE had validated four constructs for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and other Epstein Barr virus (EBV) related lymphomas, tuberculosis (TB), HIV, and HCV.

The NPC SAVINE comprises one construct which includes three EBV antigen sequences (LMP1, LMP2 and EBNA1). The NPC SAVINE has been designed and developed under the supervision of Professor Denis Moss at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, Brisbane.

The TB SAVINE comprises three constructs targeting 13 TB antigens which are under the supervision of Professor Warwick Britton at the Centenary Institute, Sydney and Professor Ian Ramshaw, SAVINE co-inventor, at the JCSMR, Canberra.

The HIV SAVINE comprises three constructs targeting the whole HIV genome which are under the supervision of Professor Ian Ramshaw at the JCSMR, Canberra and Dr Scott Thomson at the Sir Albert Sakzewski Virus Research Centre, Brisbane (Thomson et al, Vaccine 23 (2005) 4647-4657).

The HCV SAVINE also comprises three constructs targeting the whole virus of the 1a strain and is under the supervision of Professor Ian Ramshaw at the JCSMR, Canberra.
